Edgely dashed to the front at once and, opening a winning lead in the first quarter, set a fast pace all the way, but had to be ridden out at the end to stall off Bonnie Reg. The latter broke slowly and wns outrun for the first half, but finished fast under punishment. Lee Harrison II., on the outside of the leaders all the way, was driving to the limit at the end to stall off Cloten. The latter was as good as left at the post, went wide on the far turn and when entering the homestretch, but finished with a great stretch rush and was catching the leaders at the end. The latter was outrun to the stretch turn, where lie came through on the inside, finished ffi . gamely under punishment and was wearing the winner down at the end. Clean Sweep finished with a belated rush and was going fastest of all at the end. Halfcaste showed the most speed to the stretch, but failed to stay. Ayr AVater tired. Hayman fenced well and showed the most, speed for a mile and a half, then tired. Heather Belle went well, but was tiring at the end. Merry Maker lost his rider at the twelfth jump. Solon Shingle could never get up and swerved to the inside at the furlong post when put to the whip. Thistle Do finished gamely and close up. AVabash Queen ran poorly and can do better.
