GRACE G. AN EASY WINNER. DEFEATS FAST OPPONENTS IN THE CHIEF RACE AT OAKLAND. - Jennings to Take His Horses to Santa Anita at Once Schreiber at Oakland Jockey Miller Unlucky. Oakland, Cal.. December 24. Edward Soules fleet chestnut three-year-old filly, Grace G., by Albert Mountain Madge, won todays feature, the AValnut Creek Handicap, at six furlongs, with supreme ease from a small but select band of opponents, including the Woodlands-bred celebrity. De.utschland. and three others. Grace G. carried a fortune in wagers collectively for the public, and Individually for her sportsmanlike owner, and never gave her backers a moments uneasiness during the actual running. An attractive race over a longer distance of ground, won by Judge Nelson in spreadeagle style, had preceded this which was marked bv a big runup of the winner, J. Schreiber boosting Bedwells good three-year-old from ,000 to ,500 before he stopped. The owner bought him in for the customary advance. The remainder of the card was devoted chiefly to selling platers, the exception being the race won by .Marian Casey, which, under Du-gans skillful riding, ran the best race of her career. John II. Sheehan, at prohibitive odds, evoked inuch criticism when he finished a distant third in the opening race. After that favorites held full swav and the speculatively inclined public waxed rich as the afternoons racing progressed. W. B. Jennings, upon his return today from Los Angeles, decided to ship his entire stable to the Santa Anita track. Three carloads are scheduled to leave next Saturday. Walter Miller has been in total eclipse for the last two days. Barney Schreiber wired Secretary Percy W. Treat that he would be on hand and will commence booking at Oakland on Christmas day.
