Cliolk Hedrick, from a striding start, maintained unexpectedly close early pursuit of the leaders, then drew out and won off when in the stretch. E. M. Brattain, from a flying start forced the pace to the stretch and held on well for second place. John II. Sheehan, away last, closed up rapidly in the first quarter, then tired badly. Dick Wilson steadily Improved his position into a fast going fourth and is greatly improved. Chancellor Walworth, away badly,, closed a gap and was unlucky. Bravoure, well up from Hi - start, finished fast and is improving. Sexlaw, away badly and Inadequately ridden, closed a big gap an,l is promising. Senator Warner maintained nearest pursuit of the winner for six furlongs and was a game third. Corrigan was prominent for a halt, then dropped out and ran a bad race. Silver Wedding forced the pace for nearly seven furlongs and tired after a good race. Benvolio, away poorly, steadily improved his position into a fast going fourth. Bardonia maintained striking distance pursuit from the start and was a fast going second. Arronsky made up ground steadily In. the last half, finished fast and is becoming very good. San Gil made the running by a wide gap for seven furlongs and quit suddenly. Hand-me-down, from an inside ilatfootcd start, was repeatedly pulling up and finished with a belated rush. Last Go was gaining at the end. Ban Lord was knocked back-on the first turn, but closed a gap.
