PLAYING LONG-DISTANCE DREAMS. Edward Elliott, an English racing man In South Africa, cabled to England on the morning of the City and Suburban of 1904 to have 50 on No. G on the card for that race, which was won by Robert lo Diablo. It appears that the bet was the outcome of a dream, another South African , , maker navjnS dreamt that No. G won. and he had- 50 on with Mr. Elliott at starting price, subject to the latters limit of 20 to 1, which left the layer with a fine profit, "Robert" starting at exactly double the odds to which he limited the successful dreamer.
