PRODUCT OF WINTER TRACKS. The importance of winter racing as now con-dueled. is illustrated by the fact that the big sum of 1310.820 was distributed among winning owners between the opening at Oakland and the close of racing December 31, 1907. The major portion was won at Oakland, the natural result of its opening earlier that the two New Orleans tracks and Sanla Anita. Keene Bros, led the owners at Oakland: W. H. Fizer those at both New Orleans tracks and R. F. Carman was the leader at Santa Anita. Besides what he won there, his horses won $.,595 at Oakland prior to his departure from there. Among the riders, Miller rode the most winners and Notter scored the best percentage. J. Blute saddled the most winners among the trainers and Red Leaf excelled among the horses in money won.
