Mountain some time ago announced that he would stop tiding and return to Chicago, giving as a reason for this action that he was not in form and that a rest would do him go*d. However, the privilege of the course has not been denied him. but it is likely that he will depart tomorrow for his home in Chicago. The official ruling against Mountain is signed by Judges McDowell and Shelly .-tut is as follows: "In future jockey Oeorge Moiiniaiu will not be allowed to ride at cither the Ciry lark or Fair Crotinds tracks." Todays featureless card was marred by wretched track conditions and was responsible for many ol the upsets that occurred. The principal race was the fourth and went to Miss l»el;;ney at a long price. She was fortunate to be in the liest going throughout and had litth difficulty in wearing down the poorly ridden A! Muller and the frequently knocked about Hyperion 11. The latter was the betting choice and after suffering lrom interference stcpiied into a hole, whieh practically destroyed his chances. Stupid riding on the part of R. Mi-Daniel was directly responsible for the defeats of Constantia jn tin- second face and Moitiboy in the last. He Moored these two into tile treacherous places, while the other riil.-rs avoided them by going a tritie wide where !!;•• looting was surer. Favorites were beaten in all but the. closing race. The chief upset came in the opener, when Alice, i-onpl d in the betting with I.aily Hamilton as the C,iiH entry, and quoted at S to 1. came with a w I] limed rush in the last sixteenth to finish a half lenglii in advance of another long shot. Cunning. The usual stunts by the green baby racers of running all over the track were enacted. Arionette. Holy Mass and Miss Hapsburg ran well and should .- break into the winning ranks. The judges, however, think oiheiwise and will keep him on the ground for some time. Delaby was suspended for a faulty .ride on okenite at City Park. Starter Cassidy suspended jockey Conlin for six days, and joekeys Sumter. F. Burton and A.
