He bad a number of bookmakers sheets taken up and brought to him and after a thorough investigation, ordered that the future entry of Creston be retimed and suspended K. .Martin, who rode the horse, from riding for anybody but ids employers, the Pasadena Stable. Secretary E. C. Smith offered a good card today, the result being that the largest crowd of the w ek was present. The victory of Edwin T. Fr er was a big surprise to form players, but a few wiseacres were said to have won handsomely on him. The ii in -teen tiooks did a big business. Mark Press, always a contender, outstayed the pacemaker in a hard drive. Acbicve won her fourth -uccessic race when -he ■spreadeagled her opponents in the running of the second race. Foreguard ran a good race and finished an easy second. Palo Alto and Apto Oro were lighting it out at the end for third place, which the former secured by a narrow margin. Canardo. on the strength of his recent winning form, was heavily backed to repeat today, but was forced to a hard drive at the end to win from Mcrlingo. Edwin T. Fryer surprised the talent by plkbig the handicap at a long prtets Light Wool was sic ond and Colonel Jack third. Mark Antony II. and Colonel White were the leaders to the last furlong, where they tired. Kin-man won the long distance race from the odds-on favorite. Sam Bernard. P rry Wiekes momentarily had the lead in the stretch, but tired in the closing strides. Jockey Dtigan rode two winning favorites again today and his followers were in high glee. Charley Ross also finished in front with Edwin T. Fryer and Kinsman. Miller succeeded in riding a winner in tin- last race. Jockey George Mountain arrived here last night from New Orleans and will probably remain here during the rest of tlie meeting as the guest of his brother in Iais Angeles. Mouii:ain says he will go •ast in the spring and make an effort to secure reinstatement, as he declares he has done nothing warranting suspension.
