JOHN E. MADDEN PROSPERED LAST YEAR. Besides deriving a goodly sum in return for horses sold, John E. Madden each year contrives to secure a promitusit position in the list of winning owners and 1907 was no exception. With nineteen horses he won 1,825 and when the rnsforn racing terminated, only two of tlie nineteen were unsold. King James and Sally K. King James has been heavily engaged in the most important stakes of this year and It is said that Madden expects him to rank high among the best three-yctr-olds of 1908.
