ZIEGLERS FOURTEEN GOOD BROODMARES. Lexington, Ky., March 30.— Henry M. Ziegler. the Cincinnati theatrical magnate, whose racing affairs are looked after by Charles Hughes, the developer of many good horses, among them Hermis, has fourteen mares at Highland Farm, seven of which are iu foal, and all of which are to be bred this season. Semitic, the seven-year-old daughter of Henry of Navarre and Semiramis. by St. Blaise, is due to foal to Blues and will be bred to Baldur. Kossa. bay mare. 0. by Rousseau— Versa, by Maxim, is iu foal to Stalwart and will be bred to Dublin. Frederica dam of Colonel Ruppert and Buenal, by Frederick the Great— Gretna, by Mortemer, Is in foal to Adam and will be bred to Hastings. She is now seventeen years old. Lady Kantaka, the eleven-year-old chestnut mare by Kantaka — Lady Pepper, is in foal to Royal Flush III. and will be mated with Ethelbert. This mare is the dam of A Lady. Long Lost, chestnut mare, 10, by Kantaka— Loug Ago. is in foal to Garry Hermann and will be bred to Ornament. Bermuda Lilly, brown mare, 8, by Bermuda — Gratitude, by Woodlands, is in foal to Handspring and will be bred to Bryn Mawr. Crimea dam of Cardigan and Collector Jossup. chestnut mare. 15, by Algerine— Balaklava, by Kingfisher, is in foal to Stalwart, but no choice of a mate for her this season has been made. The mares not in foal are Gotham Belle full sister to Colonel Ruppert. chestnut. 7, by Gotham— Frederica; Field Lark, bay, 5, by Toddington— Silverine. by Salvator; Chattah, chestnut, 7. by St. Carlo — Chetah, by Rossington; Melton Mowbray, bav, 8. by Melton— Semper Cara. by King Alfonso; Countess Pepper, bay. 10. by Kantaka — Lady Pepper, by Shadow; Surface, bay, 8, by Waterlevel— Ladv Belle-vue. by Rossington.- and Alma, chestnut, 8 by Knight, of Ellerslee— Alniy, by Springbok. Gotham Belle will be bred to Baldur Field Lark o Shorthose. Chattah to Garry Herrman. Melton Mowbray to Royal. Flush III.. Countess Pepper to roddington.
