E. M. FRY TURNS TABLE ON B00GER RED. Montclair Runs a East Mile — Dazzle Finally Makes Good — Will Remove Ban on Grand. Los Angeles. Cal.. March 30. — Barney Schreibers E. M. Fry proved himself a good three-year-old ■day by decisively beating Booger Red and All Alone. He was outrun to the stretch, hut easily overhauled and passed the tiring All Alone when an eighth out. winning with something to spare. He was well backed by talent and public alike. Montclair repeated his go xl race of last Saturday by licating a fair band of all-aged horses by running the mile in 1:38*. Dazzle finally made good after a number of efforts by out-footing an indifferent lot all the way. Jockey Charles Grand, the Chicago boy who was set down indefinitely last January will, it is said on Bead authority, he restored to good standing by tlie officials liefore the meeting closes. Bookmaker Berk, who was suspended with Grand, has already been reinstated and ever since that action was taken i? was si:ppo-ed that Grand would also be removed from under the ban. It is now claimed that the suspension of Grand was a precautionary measure more than that the officials had any real cause to punish him. and that his suspension lias had a salutary effect upon the other riders here. Mayor Harper has signed the amended anti-race tipping ordinance, hut it will not take effect for thirty days after passage and approval. Tlie authorities say that it will lie rigidly enforced when it becomes effective. The favorites were in the fore and were well supported in most cases, the twenty liookinakers having by far the worst of the days speculation.
