General Marchmont, away fast and showing much speed, forced a fast pace all the way and. staying well in tlie final drive, just "got home. Disagreement, running in improved form, finished fast and gamely. Scantling ran sluggishly for the first quarter, but responded gamely to punishment and was wearing the .tliers down fast near the end. Ramsy. showing the most early speed, was close up at the finish and will improve. Grace Gum, from a good start, was prominent throughout. Borage also ran fairly well. Lady Chilton was caught in a jam early and ran far below her best form. Eustacian was gaining at the end. The winner was entered for 0; no bid. Scratched— 73800 Sister Ollie. 112. Gowanga forced a fast pace for the first three furlongs and. taking the h-ad. appeared a certain winner on the sl let cli turn, but tired in the iast furlong. Watuga had no mishaps, showed early speed and tired in the Mrelch. M adowgrecn closed a gap and would have been third with a better rider. Miss Searcy showed s| e.-d. Nazimova was going fast at the end after closing a big gap and going wide most of the trip. I adv Pink can do much better. Gilpin was sent into a long lead at once and, maintaining a fast pace, won, all the way well in hand after a Blight brush with Goldway. The latter was in close pursuit of the winner most of the way and held second place safe almost from the start. Hooray ran well and had no mishaps. Flavigny swerved all over the track in the stretch. Doubt ran poorly and can do much better, but Lee had a restraining hold on him all the way and had him in many pockets. Lady Vincent ran poorly. Sam Rice was squeezed out of any chance at the start.
