LEXINGTON TRACK MADE USELESS BY RAIN. Lexington. Ky., March 30. — Secretary Letcher be-pan today the erection of two barns of twenty -six stalls each at the Kentucky Association track. They sire to be completed by April 15. and are to occupy the sites of the stables destroyed by fire in 1906. It has been raining practically without a let-up ■face Saturday night, and the local track is again in bad condition. Rome trainers worked through the mud this morning, but the majority would rather take a chance on not being ready when the meeting opens than to run any risk of injury to their charges. Feroniea, dam of Maud Gonne. was brought up from Paris today by Jesse Tnrney to lie mated with Irish Lad. She has a handsome colt foal by Dick Welles. Maud Gonne has a colt by Captain Sigsbee this year and has lieen bred to Dick Welles. After being on tlie road from New Orleans since l"Tiday afternoon the car containing tlie racing Firing of Mode Nicol. including Ilandzarra and Dainty Dame, arrived this morning. Notwithstanding delay enroute the horses landed in good condition. F. R. Bradley arrived Sunday from the south and will sojourn at Idle Hour Farm until after tlie local meeting. Cliff Hammond, superintendent of Idle Hour, who was so badly injured by falling under n track roller recently, is still confined to Ids bed. Harry Shannon is acting as substitute for Hammond. Semper Fidelc. dam of Old Faithful, foaled a bay tilly by Woolsthorpe at Waldeck Stud last right. Slie is one of the mares to be sold here April 2.".
