THE CHAMPION RACERS RETIRED. Announcement that Mr. Keenes Ballot. Colin and Celt Will Race No More This Year. It lias leen given out authoritatively that the three great stars of the Keene stable. Ballot. Colin and Celt, will bo raced no more this vear. and may be considered as being already in winter quarters. Considering that their joint winnings this year-foot up 2S.3, and that each won every-race for winch he was started, it must Ik- conceded that this illustrious trio is entitled to the rest anrt to everything that ingenuity could suggest as conducive to enjoyment or life by a horse. To be able, to retire throt undefeated cracks at the end of a racing campaign is something in the way of a novel record. And such horses. Every- start each made was in a great stake race and every one was triumphantly added to the truly remarkable Keene stable account. Of the three Ballot and Celt are sound horses. Celt is reported to have fully recovered from the injury to his foot that caused his retirement after winning the Brooklyn Handicap.
