RACE HORSES BRING GOOD PRICES. New York, October 1. A large crowd of Intending buyers attended todays sale of horses in training, at the Aqueduct track. The Emery lot, consisting of Master Robert. Arase. Erbet and others, were withdrawn, with a loss of interest in the sale. The highest price paid was ,100 for Live Wire by F. J. Bartlett. Besom lirought ,000 from P. S. P. Randolph; Sir John Johnson. .-500. going to F. J Nolan: Adriuche for SI. 300. K. Patterson, bidding for J. McManus, and Jillisdale for ,225. by W. L. Powers, acting as agent for the Xcw York State Breeding Bureau. This is the first instance in which a stallion destined for that purpose has been purchased in the open market. Those now comprising the breeding bureau stud were all donated by different men. The remaining thirteen head were all sold for small prices. The total reached 2,110.
