PIMLIC0 TRACK HAS- BEEN IMPROVED, Baltimore, Md., October 1, Persons who have, not visited Plmlico since last May will find many changes when the fall . meeting opens, October 24. or later. A new steeplechase course, new stables, new jockey board and timers stand are some of the changes. Aud not the least of the Improvements Is the condition of the track itself. Many tons of sand have been- spread on the track and worked Jn by superintendent Brennan, so that now the track can be worked in any sort of weather and the red clay has almost been lost sight of. A new chute at the six furlongs, pole -has also been built, so that now fourteen or fifteen horses may be started at that point and will jnn for 100 or 150 yards straightaway with only a slight turn into the backstretck. This is a great Improvement over the old six furlongs starting iolnt. which was on a turn, and at which the rail horse was nearly always crowded out of his position, unless a very juick beginner.
