TROTTING MAN BUYS THOROUGHBREDS. Lexington. Ky.. December 19. Clem .Beachey. Jr.. who has developed, raced and sold "many a real good trotter and pacer in his time. 1ms lately added a couple of thoroughbreds to his possessions. One is the young mare, Elude, by Lissak Elusive. Elude is a half-sister to Juggler and Petticoat. Mr. Beachey bought her from Dr. Ed nagyard. He lacked her in a winning race when she opened at :t0 to 1 and closed at 18 to 1. and cleaned up nearly 510,000 as the result of her victory. He has broken her to harness, but lias not driven her lately because of the fact that she Is in foal1 to McGee. The other thoroughbred in Ithe Beachey collection is1 a colt, n coming,, two-year-old. by Frankfort My Sunny South. Tfils colt is being trained by George Mills, and is counted one of the real good ones hereabouts. A short while back he worked a quarter around twenty-three seconds, with weight up. and Mr. Bqachey a few days later refused an offer of 81.200 for him. "I do not think Ill sell him at all." said h? "If he is worth SL200 to the other fellow now hell be worth, double that to me next soring, unless he breaks a leg." Mode Nieoll has purchased Mexican from R. T. Wilson. Jn. and says it is his intention to send the son . of Mirthful Llandrinio back to the tracks. Mexican has been in 1he stud for the past two weasons and has five coming two-year-olds to represent lliinr next year. He will toe nine years old January 1. and Nlcoll says it is a cinch that he will stand training again.
