ANGELUS DISAPPOINTS HIS ADMIRERS. Los Angeles, Cal., December 29. When Bucket Brigade fell heavily on the first turn in the fifth race today, it seemed for a time that jockey Kennedy, who lay apparently lifeless on the track, had leeii killed, but after he was picked up he regained consciousness fast and when taken to the paddock it waf found that he had suffered only a severe slinking P. Much disappointment was felt at Angelus poor bliowlng in the fourth race, the Rose Hill Handicap, which went to Glorio, the second choice. He was outpaced all the way and was .passed in the final strides hr Gemmell for second place. Glorio took an easy lead after Green Seal tired on the far turn and. showing great speed thereafter, simply made his opponents look common, winning in a canter. Ben Trovato, by his excellent victory in the one and one-eighth miles race today, stamped himself as. one of the most consistent horses that ever raced here. He was generously supported by the public and talent alike and rewarded the confidence placed in him by winning easily from Bound and Bound nniid great applause. After the race he was bid iip from 1908.sh00 to ,000 by K. Maine, but was retained by owner Beid for the customary extra bid. MlsB Sain would probably have won the third race, but bled. Despite tills, iiowever. she ran an excellent race, toeing beaten only a "head by Tony Bonero. Tim petting was fair with the public having the fietter of the days speculation.
