JOHN MADDEN HAS FORMIDABLE STRING. Master of Hamburg Place Will Divide His Stable for First Time Since He Entered Sport. John E. Me.ddeni is now considered to have tin-most formidable stable of new horses now in training ou the American turf. The reason is plain. He retained Intact his stable of race horses and was not lured away to England or France at the first cry that racing was dead in this country. Because Madden was not eager to seud his horses abroad he now will be a big factor in American racing. He has not only the largest number of horses in training, but the finest lot in appearance. He will divide his string this season-— a move that he li-as never before made since his advent into the racing game. W. II. Snyder will take several of the second string to campaign on the Canadian circuit. The remainder will run for the purses and stakes offered by the tracks that are holding meetings under the jurisdiction of the Jockey Club.
