Fores was lucky in escaping interference throughout and. after wearing the leaders down, went into a r..;M lead, but tired unexpectedly in the la-t sixteenth and had to tie sharply driven to stall off Redeem. T.l-e latter came from a lonR way back in the last furlong, l.ut took ■ tired swerve when a sixteenth out ami lust considerable ground. I.etty Lester was in daac eaarten most of the way and should have been incch closer up. Black Boy showed s|M-cd. but tired after going three furlongs. Lou Lanier had a rough Irip. Captain Glore acted badly at the post and tired in the last quarter. The winner was entered for 8488: no bid. Sir leges ran into a good lead at once and. setting a fast pace, had his nearest contenders driving hard to keep ill striding distance, but tired near the cud and had to ! e driven out to win. Zlenap liegan slowly and was in close quarters for the first half, then moved up fast in the stretch whin clear and was pressing the winner at the close. St. Klmwood tired in the last furlong after lieing well up for three-quarters. .Molcsev closed a big gap from a poor send-off. Floreal ran fairly well. Ada Meade was palpably unfit. Old Honesty gained steadily throughout and showed improvement over his previous race. Warfield had to go wide most of the way. but finished gamely and was worked out an additional quarter. John K. McMillan liegan slowly and was taken wMa and finished fast after closing a big gap. Campeon tired after going seven furlongs. Greeu Seal quit badly when hard pressed.
