HIGH PRIVATE TO REMAIN AT NEW YORK. New York. May 22.— F. A. Forsylho. fearful that tin- Canadian tracks may prove too hard for High Private, the crack three year -old. with which he won the California Derby ami other valuable stakes at Oakland last winter, has decided to forego his intention of shipping to Toronto. The roll will remain here to fill the engagements which have been made for him on the New York tracks, llili Cii vates Underpinning has given trouble from Base to time and his owner is anxious to favor him in every way possible, as he t nlertains a high opinion of the colt— an estimate in which those who saw High Private race at Oakland last winter coincide. Mr. Forsvthe keenly regrets that High Private was not nominated for the Withers and Belmont Stakes. He is among the oligiblos for the Brooklvu Handicap and is being pointed for that fixture, in which he may have to meet King James. Celt and Hilarious. Raleigh Colston. High Privates trainer, considers him a better horse than either Durante or Montgomery, other high class horses that he has level aped in recent years.
