JUMPERS HEADING FOR CANADA. New York. May 22. — It is feared that difficulty will be experienced in filling the steeplechase events on the New York tracks with decent material from now on beoaus- most of the horsemen who make a specialty of developing and training jumpers are going lo Canada. William Garth has shipped his fencers from Virginia to Toronto, and William Hogan will go with Agent, last years champion and this seasons New York winner, at once. Colonel Robert Neville will also ship and it is likelv that James W. Colt will follow suit with at least part of his Strang. Tlie loss country folk complain that there is not enough money to be made hereabouts. They consider a weeks wait between starts a bit long after the weekly program of six or more races at Pitulieo. - In Canada there will be plenty for the leppers to do. The folk across the border are fond of steeple chasing and the Toronto. Montreal. Hamilton. Fort Erie and Windsor programs are designed with the object of attracting the best jumpers.
