Merrick raced Snake Marv to defeat in the first half and came away in the stretch run to win eased up. Snake M.nv l.in to her best form and held on well in the stretch. Lady Vie was taken back in the first quarter and had to be hard ridden near the end to outstay Tim Kelly for third place. The latter sliowed speed for a half. lii. una is showing improvement and closed a gap from a slow beginning. Mettle Benaiiil made a game effort for the first three furlongs, then tired and had to be hard ridden to outstav Metzie. La Fayette had to be hard ridden early and closed a gap. was in the worst going and finished gamely through the last quarter. Huerfano kept up ejaaer than usual and wore Maycella down In the last furlong. Mavcellrf tired fast after setting the pace for lhr.-e quarters. Floreal. favored by the stiff going, ran in close pursuit of Cordova to ilie stretch, where she took the lead and won as her rider pleased. Pink Wings liegan slowly and trailed far back for the first three quarters, then moved up fast in the stretch and outstayed Cordova at the end. Cordova sliowed much the most early sp.-ed. but tired after going three-quarters. Civita was prominent to the stretch. Point Lace was going fast at the Old. Ada Meade, in poor form, was never a serious contender. The others were always outpaced.
