May 27.— John Miller, who trained the -table of Mortimer and Charles Schwartz lUMUki-Inllv lor several seasons, has turned Kar West over to the manager of the Schwartz farm in Hew Jer ev. where the big son of Montana will be developed into a lumper. The Schwartzes are in Paris this spring. It is not improbable that far West may make .1 useful steeplechaser. Frank Brown, who trained the horse before he became the property of the Schwartzes put him through the held several times, and he took to lumping as a duck takes to water. Far Wet lias won creditable races at one mile ami a quarter, and if he learns lo jump he may become a lirst -class fencer. He is possessed of considerably inoi" class than the average horse racing through tin- tield. Tie Schwartzes thought i.r schooling K..r Weal for jumping several seasons back, but deferred sending him through the tield because of his Hbilitv to win an the flat.
