De Mund drew out rapidly and led by a comfortable gap to the stretch, was momentarily headed when midway of the stretch, but came on finally and outstayed King CobaK gamely. The latter ran In nearest aud easy pursuit to the stretch, then challenged when beginning the last furlong anil seemed a sure winner, but tired finally. Alfred Noble was a tiistant third throughout after impeding Kosimiro seriously. The latter was a close and persistent fourth throughout and is extra good. Royal Onyx, outpaced in the early running, but moderately well up, finished fast and is good. Jack Atkln, forced out of position repeatedly ami badly outrun, finished with a belated rush, but ran a very bail race. Etherial, away badly, elosetl a considerable gap and is a grand looker. Glennadeaue. from a slow start on the inside in close quarters, ran forwardly to the stretch, but tired in the final drive. Cindy, away lioorly. steadily improved her position aud was close up at the end. Jacquelina and Calypte showed speed lor tiiree furlongs and quit badly. King James was reserved in inside forward pursuit under a pull for six furlongs, then moved up. but taught ami passed the leader only in the final sixteenth, finally prevailing in a terrific drive. Restigouche set a tremendous pace and held sway steadily and persistently for a mile and an eighth before be was menaced and then gave way finally after an unexpectedly game struggle. Celt ran sluggishly, but after going the first quarter was lapped on the winner for six furlongs, but under the whip frequently, then tiretl on the far turn, tlropping far back, but stuck to his work under the whip very gamely and persistently and was holding ids own at the end. although probably not keyed up. High Private, hopelessly outpaced by the three leaders from start to finish, was easing up at the end. Frank Gill ran forwardly for a mile aud tired, but is good. Berkeley trailed throughout and was outclassed. Scratched— 821 641 Montgomery. 112. Rostrum ran in striking distance of the leaders from the start and finished a fast going and close up third. Racquet, away [Hiorly. hail a rough journey for the first half and closed a big gap. Lighthouse ran forwardlv throughout. Court Lady was prominent to the stretch and tiretl. Hill Top. virtually left, dosed an immense gap anil i* an abnormally slow lieginner. Lasata failed to stay. Colinet was moderately well up for a half mile. Equation closed a big gap and was gaining at the end after belug nearly left. Eddie Dugan showed early speed and met with interference on the far turn.
