Footpad, nearly left, ■wide up much ground. Summer Night finished close up and gaining. Warden closed a gap. Mauviette vw.t actually left, as also were Lady Chilton and Red Mimic. Pullcare. from an inside slow start, drew out rapidly and set the pace to midway of the stretch, then succumbed readily to the favorite, but was a game second, clennndeane ran forwardly and persistently throughout and is improving. Joe Madden, in close pursuit and unexpectedly under a pull because of the very early slow running, moved up simultaneously with Fayette in the last three furlongs and outsta ed him finally. The latter, after being reserved under a pull in nearest attendance on the pacemaker, essayed to steal a deciding lead on the stretch turn, but could not get far away and succumbed finally in a game effort. County Fair made the running on sufferance for a mile and a quarter before he retired and was beaten off, but will improve.
