KEENES ESPERANTO WINS HANDICAP. London. Eng.. July 1. James R. Kccnes colors were borne to victory at Newmarket today by Esperanto and Harry Payne Whitney was twice second. Tlie latters Dinna Ken was a contestant in the July Cup, but failed to place. At todays sale of yearlings Mr. Whitney purchased a colt by Persimmon Dame Dora for ,400. Priscillian went to England with an unbeaten record and this was his first start in England. He carried top weight of 12C pounds, the same impost that had been allotted to Ballot, for which trainer Darling did not accept. Norman III. carried 110 and Stamina 112.
