OFFER OF 5,000 FOR OCEAN BOUND. New York. July 1. Woodford Clay has refused to sell his two-year-old filly, Ocean Bound, at any price. Captain E. B. Cassatt yesterday offered Mr. Clay 5,000 for the daughter of Star Shoot and Flying Ship. Sir. Clay told the Pennsylvania turfman that he did not have money enough to buy the filly. Mr. Clay does not want to sell Ocean Bound, because he believes that she is capable of holding her own with Sweep and Waldo at any distance two-year-olds are asked to go. Ocean Bound- has many valuable two-year-old engagements ahead. She is In the Splnaway. Special and Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga and in the Futurity at Sheepshead Bay. Mr. Clay has high hopes that she will win one or two of these races.
