PROMISING FILLY BY ADAM. Lexington, Ky., August !. Major Foxliall A. Daingerlield paid a visit a day or two ago to Bal-gowan Stud, owned by Messrs. T. J. and G. H. Clay, for the purpose of Inspecting the yearling bay lilly bv Adam, out of F.llangowan. which lias been priced to the Newcastle Stable for $.1,000. .Major Daingerfield was quite carried away witli the good looks of the filly and pronounced her to be one of the most shapely, well-muscled and attractive lillies that he has seen in recent years. The lilly. a half-sister to the good winners. Henry McDaniel. John Smulski and Stargowan, is the pride of the farm. Major Daingerfield himself not long since sent from Castleton to lie trained for James R. Kecne by James Howe, a daughter of Adam and Citron el la dam of Compensation, by St. Simon. A half-sister to Lady Irma. by Stalwart Lady Haigowau. is among the other yearlings at the Clay farm.
