Sweep, away badly, quickly ran into forward contention and lapped Herkimer, suffered from the latter bor- lug out, then drew out finally on the stretch turn and won after a long closing drive. Louise S.. luckily and forwardly placed in the early running, just failed to get up in a great stretch rush. Fauntleroy, a slow beginner, was outrun for the first half and made his usual whirlwind finish. Searpia. nearly left, ! closed a sensational early gap and held on persistently to the end of a remarkable race. Herkimer out- ; broke and outpaced the others to the far turn aud held on resolutely in the closing drive. Busy, away i poorly, closed "a big gap aud finished close up. Medallion ran well up to the stretch. Hampton Court ran lorwardly for five furlongs and is promising. Fighting Bob was shunted rearward repeatedly. Colinet was shut off several times and outrun. Personal outbroke and outpaced the others for live and a half furlongs and tired, but finished a game third. Twilight Queen ran in forward contention throughout, dwelt on the stretch turn, but finished fast. Sententious ran in early prominence and finished well, llomecresl ran forwardly for half of the journey and retired. Danoscara, prominent from the start, drew out on the stretch turn and held sway to the end and was lucky and best. Zieuap, forwardly placed throughout, was a fast going second. Hill Top maintained his position well up on the inside in close quarters for the first half, worked through a rough journey in the stretch and was a close up and game third. Etherial. from an inside slow start, was crowded out sharply and closed up from last place into a good second in tint middle running, but tired finally. Live Wire ran in prominent contention for seven furlongs, finished close up and was short and is extra good. Dorante. shuttled rearward at the start, closed a big gap in the last half and wants a longer race. Royal Vane ran in forward contention for six furlongs and shows steady Improvement. Maltble was hopelessly outpaced all the way. Whitergreen was well up for six furlongs and is not ready. Howdy Howdy ran in nearest attendance to the stretch and tired in the closing drive. Love Watches, prominently placed for five furlongs, quit, as usual, at the end. Pulka held his position from the start and was gaining in the stretcli. Compton had a bad start anil -ki.-ed a moderate gap. Matclilield. away very badly, made up considerable ground.
