NOTES OF THE TURF. George Odom is mentioned as prospective trainer for James Butler. Jockey Notters return from Germany to America is expected this month. The price at which .T. W. May sold Turf Star is said to have been ,500. Ed Heffner has turned Okenite over to W. Allen, the steeplechase jockey, and the horse is being schooled through the field. W. A. Burttschell has first call on jockey John Wilson for the Canadian season only, and has not acquired the contract on" the boy outright. The sale of tins Sanford horses will take place at Sheepshead Bay Thursday. Nine two-year-olds belonging to R. IT. McO. Potter, two from the Whitney stable and Moquette and Fair Louise, the property of W-. J. Young, will be offered at the same time.
