CANADIAN BREEDING BUREAU MATTERS. Montreal. Que.. September 25. Tlte National Bureau stallion Valjean won first prize in the thoroughbred class at the Central Canada Fair at Ottawa recently. The bureau will place Call Hoy in Quebec. He is a grand-looking horse bred by John E. Madden and foaled in 1905. lie is by Plaudit and his dam is the celebrated Imp. The bureau has opened up winter quarters in St. Laurent, near Montreal. The farmers with whom stallions have been placed have commenced sending in their service hooks. AVith-out exception, every horse lias been patronized to the limit set by the bureau. Five more thoroughbred stallions will be placed in Quebec during the next month.
