AMERICAN HORSES WIN AT NOTTINGHAM. Young horses bred in this country and taken to England raced successfully at the recent Nottingham meeting. The verv first race of the meeting fell to H. Hartigans three year old bay colt Shrubh. by Criffon Beneme. by Ben Strome, he defeating ten ei inpetitors and starting at li to 1. On tfie second day Mr. Whitneys Hamburg Kegatta gelding ran third to Saracen Prince.-s and the Australian Star — Kightsom filly iu the Witford Selling Plate for two-.w .n-olds. eighteen starting; Mr. Belmonts Hasty Pudding ansa the Bestwood Park Plate, for which fifteen contented, with Hastv Pudding favorite at ."! to 1: Mr. Butlers bay colt. Slatin Pasha, by Slavi — My Fate, won the Robin Hood Mate for two-year-olds at a half mile, defeating nineteen others and being a 7 to 1 clioice; Mr. Belmonts Norinan 111. ran second to Dudilun in the Newark Plate at a mile, conceding the winner twenty-live pounds and defeating thirteen others, and Mr. Nairns three-year-old chestnut colt. King Star, by Kingston — Starlight, defeated nine opponents in the Sherwood Selling Plate at three-quarters in such easv stvle that he was bid up and sold to Mr. A. Stedall for ,000. Shrubh am! Slatin Pasha were bred bv Mr. J. B. Haggin and King Star by Mr. J/ R. Ki-one. all being sold at auction as yearlings at the Newmarket sales.
