NO STEEPLECHASING AT AQUEDUCT. New Yoik. Aiuil .".. Th.-re will be no steeplcchas ing at the meeting of the Queens County Jockey Club at Aqueduct, which opens the eastern racing season April 15. The Aqueduct field has an excellent si,-, plechase course, but the officials believe they could li"t expect to get good racing oyer the oh stack s while their meeting is running iu opposition to that al Piinlico. The Pimlico program provides for at least one steeplechase a day. and this inducement will probably attract all of the cross-country horses that are ready to race. The book for the Aqueduct meeting was issii. .1 today. It provides for tyvelve days racing. The s|Mitt is to b gin at 2;.!0 each tlav and the purses for the overnight races are *4i*o and $ .~ioo added. Seventy tyvo races sre listed none of them al a greater distance than a mile It is usual that the distances should be short iu the early spring meetings.
