GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS REGION. Lexington. Ky.. July 9.— Secretarv Garret D. Wilson says that the Camden Handicap, to be run at the Kentucky Associations spring meeting in 1911. and the Breeders Futurity, to lie run in the spring of 1912. received liberal patronage in the mutter of entries, which closed July 1. "I have not hud time to tubulate the entries," said Mr. Wilson, "but there are. I know, over 200 in the Breeders Futurity. I ■eared that, considering the way things are going on the turf nowadays, if we got as ninny us 150 we would lie doing well, and that 175 would be extra good." • The work of cutling down the hill in the center field and tilling in the swuuipy place near the half mile at the local track would have lieen completed this week lint for the uncommonly heavy ruins. The ratal fell in torrents during the first five duys of the week. Superintendent Ross is getting ready a number of the stables for horses that will come here from Latoniu next week to rest until full and for the yearlings that will begin to come in to be broken about August 1. Within the next fortnight the betting shed is to be enlarged and some changt«; are to lie made In the office that is used for the handling of tickets and money for the pari-mutuel machines.
