NOTES OF THE TURF. Arcite has only one eye. Carroll Reitl proposes to summer his string at Churchill Downs. J. W. Rogers is to open a public training stable at Churchill Downs. F. T. Healey is making jockey Keoghs engagements at Empire City. Frank Bespeaa will remain in the west to break the J. B. Res|KSs yearlings. While John Madden is at Saratoga. Jule Garson will handle a bunch of platers for him at Empire City. Ed Trotter will ship Eyebright to Douglas Park. Louisville, for the summer, as he thinks the horse is in need of a rest. Manager John Hachineister lias placed an order far 100.000 souvenir i ostal cards carrying twelve rtewa of the lataala track. W. F. Schultes horses have been transferred to F.mpire City track. The Empire City track Is considerably deeper close to the Inner rail this season thaa elsewhere. Horses that have been so unfortunate as to get inside poalttBaa have been at a disadvantage. John Morris of Woodlmrn Farm is in the east to attend the Empire City races. In his opinion Peter Pan is the best-looking stallion in Kentucky. He has developed into a gigantic horse aud is highly regarded at Custleton Stud. Capt. J. Breckenridge Viley visited Latonia recently and reported that the yearlings at Stonewall Irani are the best looking lot he ever raised. He is a son of J. R. Keenes Disguise and is well engaged next season as a two-vear-old and is also an eligible to the Kentnckv Derby of M12
