NOTES OF THE TURF. H. R. Augustus, who is said to have been posing as jockey Bullman, has been arrested at Memphis, Tenn. The California Legislature has adjourned sine die without taking any action on the bill for the creation of a state racing commission. AV. J. Youngs racing stable, consisting of a dozen horses, reached Lexington from Jacksonville yesterday and are quartered at the Kentucky Association course. John E. Maddcns two-year-olds are quartered at Gravesend, but no plans for the future have been made for them. Mr. Madden still -believes there will be some racing on the New York tracks and says he will not make a hasty decision. He does not care to try his luck on the English turf, but he is not averse to sending his youngsters to a foreign market if the conditions remain unfavorable in this country.
