LACK-LOSLS rider was caught napping at the start, but he moved up to the others with a rush and, taking the lead in, the first quarter, drew away steadily and won in a canter. LAYMINSTER ran forwardlv and made a game effort all the way. MAID MILITANT closed a gap and also ran a good race. CHARLEY STRAUS had no mishaps. CANOPIAN showed speed, but tired. LONGHAND was taken back in the first quarter and ran poorly. OLD HONESTY was always outpaced. DENVER GIRL was eased up after she ran out on the hrst turn. WYANDOT followed the winner closely for the first quarter and suffered by being cut off, but ran a good race and was much the best of the others. CHERRYOLA, away fast, was restrained for the first half and always in closest pursuit, but tired in the stretch when called on. LEAMENCE was well up in the early running and always held MESSENGER BOY safe. The latter was a distant trailer all the way and ran poorly. COLONEL COOK, away in a tangle, moved up fast in the first three furlongs, but tired slightly near the end. ALOOHA came fast at the end and took third place in the final stride. DUKE DAFFY ran a good race and probably will improve. The others were beaten off. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to ,405 and bought in. CAMEL was in forward contention throughout, but tired and just lasted long enough to hold second place. JACOBITE ran well and came fast in the stretch. SILVER KNIGHT ran poorly and can do better.
