LAUREL STALLS FILLING UP. Laurel. Md.. September 20. Everything Is now in readiness for the opening of the new track here on Monday next. The track is in first-class condition for a new course. It has been constantly harrowed during the past few days. The stables are rapidly filling and it is expected that by Sunday over five hundred horses will be quartered at the new plant. Three carloads will leave Baltimore tomorrow morning, including the horses of N. K. Real. Frank Gardner and John Pangle. along with a number of mixed stables. The horses of J. W. Burtt-sehell arrived today, aud those of J. J. Hylaud are expected tomorrow. The betting ring has been finished and is 250 feet long by 11S feet wide. This will afford accommodation for 100 stands, should the occasion ever arise. The majority of the officials have arrived and are now at the plant. Joseph McLennan, clerk of the course, came today from Toronto, and reports that the majority of the owners racing there will sihp to Laurel. Two special trains are booked to leave Toronto Saturday night, one for horses and the other for owners and followers of the sport. A record crowd is looked for on opening day. The entries will close at 10:30 each day. The horses of W. P. Austin and Miss A. M. Marronc have arrived.
