FINE STALLIONS FOR CANADIAN FARMS. Montreal, Que.. September 20. The Canadian National l.nifuu of Breeding has just sent out its last shipments of the year, the stallions going In all directions. King Cobalt, looking lit the pink o cou- dition, was sent to Halifax. Otter, a young sou of Lissak. recently donated, is on his way to Vancouver. Brown Tony, grandson of Hanover, has left for the Glenthornc Ranchc. via Edmonton, Alberta. From Edmonton he goes to Strathcona, and from there is taken by trail in charge of Mounted Police troopers to his destination. The boys at the ranch will ride ninety miles to meet the horse. They have many fine mares, and are already talking of starting a hunt club. This sort of shipment shows the far-off places reached by the Bureau. Other horses are destined for Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Zagolba is going to Greenwood. British Columbia, which is a great horse country, and near the American boundary. Good old Martin Doyle has been turned over to the Bureau aud placed with the Inuisclaire Hunt at Oakville, Out. There was a procession of all the stable baniN when the horse left the barn at To route. In fact, It was quite a fuuctlou. Martin Doyle is nine years old. aud won races all over the United States and Canada, and retired in a blaze of glory, having won his last race, a mile, In 1:30. The Bureau stallion. Elfin Beau, will be placed in Quebec, probably at Shorbrooke. He is a fine looking horse, but is just getting over the effects of a sprained tendon. Frank Navin. by Ben Brush, is at Lancaster. Out., and will not be sent out until spring. The Bureau Is getting together an exhibit for the New York Horse Show. Fort Hunter will bo brought from Halifax and given a special preparation. Light Wool and Ilosemont and probably Oiseau will have a try for the American championship at Madison Square Garden, together with Valjean, winner at the Ottawa Fair. Last year the Bureau won in New York with Masternian. and brought the coveted ribbon to Canada Tor the first time. An effort- will be made to keep it here.
