CARRILLON came through on the inside on the stretch turn and outstayed COONHV K. for second place. The latter ran well, but swerved to the outside at the furlong post and lost ground. Won easily: second and third driving. BUCK-HORN set the early pace and was passed on the turn by TACTICS, but drew away again after entering the homestretch and won under mild restraint. TACTICS ran a good race in the going and hung on resolutely in the stretch under punishment. CHERRY SEED began slowly, but gained steadily into a close up third. CI1RYSEIS ran well. LUCKY" LASS outbroke the others and showed a good turn of speed in pacemaking, but tired in the final drive. SUNLIKE ran in closest pursuit to the stretch, but tired and just lasted long enough to withstand LOATHLY LADYS rush. The latter made up ground and finished fast. LITTLE ERNE showed speed. MICHAEL ANGELO, after being saved in the early running, moved up fast on the outside while rounding the far turn and drew away into a long lead in the last furlong. ROCKVILLE. a good mud runner, but running like a non-stayer, set the pace under restraint to the stretch, but failed to respond when called on for a final tftorr. CAST STEEL finished fast and would have been second in a few more strides. CHEPONTUC and ROBERT COOPER showed speed, but both tired badly.
