HIandH PRIVATE WINS AGAIN WAINWRIGHT RACER MAKES GREAT WEIGHT CONCESSION IN SHAWNEE HANDICAP. Granite Takes Another Purse for Phil Hyams Brothers Finish First and Second in Third Race Gossip of Kentucky Circuit. Louisville, Ky., October 12. J. R. Wainwrights High Private accounted tins afternoon for the Shawnee Handicap, worth ,040 net. lie won in handy stylu from Carlton G. and Cherryola, the only other starters. It was his fourth successive victory and had ihe more merit from the fact that he was making lug weight concessions to his opponents. The rough going was much to his liking and he carried his big Jmrden with ease, winning well in hand and showing the most speed throughout. Carlton G. outstayed Cherryola in the final drive for second place. The approaching end of the local racing season and line weather combined to attract another big attendance. Track conditions were not much better lh:ui yesterday during the running of the first three races, but thereafter the harrows and tloat made a decided impression on the going. With no more rain tonight the track will be in excelent condition for tomorrows racing. The fifth race resulted in a victory for Azyiade over Free Lance and Oakland. The latter, making his first start hereabouts, showed a dazzling flight of speed for the first three furlongs, but was over-, hauled in the stretch iby Azyiade. Ihil Hyams is reported to have made another handsome winning on the victory of Granite, which took the closing dash in easy fashion from Colonel Ashmeado and Queen Marguerite. Union .Tack turned a form somersault when lie beat his "brother, Al Midler, in a "common canter for the purse in the third race.
