ZOROASTER BEATS GOOD OPPOSITION. Spokane, Wash., October 12. Zoroaster, starting at Coeur dAlene for the first time, today won the Columbus Handicap at one mile and a quarter in easy fashion from Ocean Queen and Roy Junior. Rated behind Ocean Queuu and Roy Junior to the stretch, he moved up quickly and, taking the lead thereafter, held his opposition safe. Ocean Queen managed to hold on long enough to head Roy Junior for third money. The Knights of Columbus Handicap at six furlongs was won by Enfield in a drive with Irish Gentleman and Daddy GIp; It was a good contest all the way. The racing was clean aud formful and the attendance large.
