BELLE "NELSON, running well in the going, wore CLIFF CREEK down and. taking a Jong lead, was under restraint to the last sixteenth, where she had to be hustled to withstand the rush of FOND. The latter ran well throughout and made a fast finish. CHILTON TRANCE began slowly, but was catching FOND at the end and would have been second in another stride. AIREY ran well in the going. LAHORE ran an excellent race and wore NAUSIION down, but could not get to the winner. NAUSIION was speedy, but tired. ROYAL METEOR was always outran.
