ENDURANCE STAKES TO BE GREAT RACE Louisville Ky August 14 Judge Charles K Price who will preside at Churchill Downs aud Douglas Park this fall has written to Col M 1 Winn from Atlantic City where he Is sojourning In company with Mrs Price and his sou Clarence Price PriceJudge Judge Price predicts that judging from the entries for the Kentucky Endurance Stakes the race will be the greatest fourmile event ever run In tha United States It will be by far the richest event of this kind ever provided by an American race track Its estimated value is 15000 and In addi ¬ tion there will be a gold cup worth 1000 the gift of the Kentucky State Racing Commission CommissionA A feature especially pleasing to Judge Price is the international character of the race Its entries come from all over America including one from Mexico several from Canada and one from either England or Germany Dr McEnery the wealthy Londoner has agents in both of the latter countries named looking for a champion stayer able to cap ¬ ture tho Downs big race raceSuch Such quality Judge Price says never before was represented In a similar race With such keen rivalry existing he expresses the belief that by October 7 the date on which the race is to be run Interest in it will prevail far and near Judge Price has witnessed the running of every Kentucky Derby and he says he believes that the crowd which will be attracted to the Downs by the Kentucky Endur ¬ ance Stakes will eclipse by far any Derby day record In the history of racing in Louisville
