HAMILTON RACING FORMFUL TRACK AGAIN IN FAST CONDITION AND FIVE FAVORITES SCORE Froglegs Takes Another Purse for J W Schorr Bell Horse and Plate Glass Returned Winners of Handicaps Sea Cliff Is Bid Up Hamilton Ont August 14 Improved track con ¬ ditions brought a corresponding improvement in the sport here this afternoon The track was fast uud form was so well observed that five of the seven favorites were first at the finish The Midsummer Handicap was split and the second half of It was run as the fifth race Pell Horse won the tlrst half and Plate Glass the other Both were well backed public choices Plate Glass beat a band of the best horses that have gone to the post during the meet ¬ ing in bis race He came from behind and dis ¬ played great courage in the stretch drive Guy Fisher was second and Granite third Adams Ex ¬ press making his maiden effort In Canada was a keen factor for six of the seven fnrlougs but lack of condition told at the finish and he tired Bell tiredBell Horse made all the pace in his race but waa tiring at the iinisiw 1euobscot which finished sec ¬ ond was probably best and would have won with better racing luck McCahey was unfortunate In getting into a jam directly after the start and was crowded back to last place lie was wearing thu winner lengthThe down and was only beaten a scant length The Schorr threeyearold Froglegs added another to the long list of victories he has scored this season when he won the Birmingham Special a dash of a mile and an eighth for threeyearolds Mission furnished stout opposition to the stretch turn where Froglegs drew away to win easily In the last sixteenth the latter bore over to the Inside rail but was just about clear and did not interfere with Mission which finished second secondOne
