LITTLE JANE RUNS A GAME RACE Away from the Post Far Behind Her Opponents She Gets Up to Score by a Nose Butte Mont August 14 Todays card was made up of a series of selling races The fourth race a dash of five furlongs furnished an exciting finish between Little Jane Pajaroita and Chas Goetz Little Jane from the stable of W C Clancy broke with her opponents the start Iwing a good one but in an instant she was pinched out of contention The others then left her many lengths behind Jockey Corey applied his whip and the filly fairly Hew Before they had traversed a quarter of a mile she was up with the leaders Pajaroita and Chas Goetz and in a fierce stretch struggle she managed to get the decision by a nose noseJockey Jockey Selden was lined 25 by the judges for rough riding in the fourth race raceF F Augustus Heinze the copper magnate of New York formerly of Butte was an interested visitor at the course this afternoon afternoonState State Senator William Dunnigan of Anaconda one of the staunchest supporters of racing in tin state of Montana was a guest of the local asso ¬ ciation today todayJack Jack Stryker was bid up from 200 to 400 by O C Hcrskind but was retained by her owner H I Wilson WilsonRoy Roy Junior which was shipped by express from Vancouver to race in some local stakes that he is entered for arrived here safely
