DATES FOR INDIANA RACING INAUGURAL MEETING OF MINERAL SPRINGS JOCKEY CLUB TO OPEN SEPTEMBER 14 Management Makes Official Announcement aa Con ¬ struction Work at New Course Assumes Shape Closing Date October 1 Matters have progressed to such an extent In con ¬ nection with the building of the new track of tha Mineral Springs Jockey Club at Mineral Springs Porter County Indiana that he management has officially set the date for the opening of the course The inaugural meeting of fifteen days which will be held In conformity to the Seller law limiting and regulating race meetings iu Indiana will opeii on Saturday September 14 and come to a close on Tuesday October 1 It is the plan of the promoters of Hie venture to conduct a second meeting of fifteen days when the thirty days shall have elapsed which the Seller law imposes as a requirement before an ¬ other meeting may be held over the same Course This would permit the beginning of the second meet ¬ ing on the first day of November The Seller law further provides that there shall be no racing after November 15 15The The formal announcement of the dates for the meeting together with an invitation to horsemen to make application for stabling accommodations ap ¬ pears on the sixth page of this issue of Daily Racing Form The meeting is scheduled for a time when important meetings will be going on in Canada Ken ¬ tucky Maryland and the Far West but it is the best arrangement that can be made this fall Next seasons dates will be arranged to avoid conflict with other important meetings as much as possible The possibleThe site of the Mineral Springs track presents a scene of feverish activity these days The Lake Shore Railroad has completed its spur track into the grounds and building material of all sorts is being delivered in huge quantities The surveying has been completed and actual construction work has been entered upon A F Knotts president of the Racing Foundation Corporation which will finance Hie meeting is a practical engineer and contractor and lie is confident of his ability to complete the course in the time intervening Infore the date st for the opening of the meeting
