CANADIAN BREEDING BUREAU NOTES Montreal Que August 15 The Bureau has re ¬ ceived word that Arawak finished first and Kid sec ¬ ond at the Blnscarth Fair Manitoba A young foal by Kid won first prize in the class for youngsters Kid is by Ccsarion Design by Hanover and was mated with ninetyone mares last season This was the record for Bureau stallions in Canada CanadaThe The Duke of York Royal Canadian Hussars will hold an exhibition at Lachutc on August 31 Prizes are offered for mares suitable for producing cavalry horses remounts sired by thoroughbred stal ¬ lions horses suitable for cavalry purposes and suckling and yearling colts by thoroughbred sires Tho Bureau is giving a cup for the latter class and as the Bureau stallions Athel and Earl Rogers are not far from Lachuto a good display is expected The Bureau is booming in the Ottawa Valley and farmers are greatly pleased with tho colts coltsOiseau Oiseau has been sent lo the barracks at St Johna Que but will be brought back to Montreal for Janu ¬ ary February and March 1913 when ho will be placed with King Cobalt at D Raymonds farm Fort Hunter is already at St Johns and a determined effort will be made to get the farmers in that vicin ¬ ity to raise remounts which are badly needed neededRosemount Rosemount now weighs 1300 pounds and will be shown at the Toronto Fair where he won the cham ¬ pionship last year
