NOTES OF THE TURF Old Rosebud is a great attraction for eastern horsemen arriving at Saratoga They have heard much of the prowess of this sensational son of Uncle and he has been critically inspected by one and all allThe The main track at Saratoga has a particularly firm bottom and a light cushion over which fast time is likely to be recorded this season On ac ¬ count of the sandy nature of the soil the track will dry out quickly thus insuring safe footing under all conditions Crosscountry folk are greatly pleased with the Saratoga steeplechase field The fences are thickly brushed and the turf Is famous for its firmness firmnessSecretarv Secretarv Earlocker of the Saratoga Association is bubbling qver with enthusiasm over tin pros ¬ pects for the meeting scheduled to open at the Spa tomorrow the fact being that all the boxes in the members enclosure have been taken except four This is unprecedented for in no year since the Saratoga Association has had the track have more than twothirds of the boxes been taken in any one season
