TRACK SUPERINTENDENT STRAHAN DIES. Washington. D. C April 8. — Dr. J. Ramsey Nevitt, the coroner, after an investigation gave ■ certificate of accidental d ath in the case of Thomas Strahan. race track superintendent, who died on the operating table at Casualty Hospital early yesterday morning of poisoning. It develops that about 5:30 oclock Friday morning in his room at a local hotel. Strahan took : . solution of carbolic acid by mistake. He ran to the hotel office, told the clerk what had happened and asked for an antidote. Milk was given him and an ambulance was summoned. Death occurred fifty minutes later at the Casualty Hospital. Strahan was superintendent of the Guttenberg. N. J., race track fully twenty -five years ago. Later he came to Washington and accepted a similar position with the Washington Jockey Club on the track at Penning. He superintended the construction of the Bowie track and served as its superintendent until a week ago. when he lost his position on the day the meeting opened. Strahans remains are at the Costello undertaking establishment, where funeral services will be held Monday morning. He is survived by two sons and two daughters.
